Enjoy the Outdoors on Hillsborough Greenway, NC
Known as the Riverwalk, the paved urban greenway located in Hillsborough stretches its near-two-mile trail along Eno River, connecting western Hillsborough with more trails east of town. Popular among locals for walking, jogging, and cycling, the Riverwalk provides pedestrian connections between several neighborhoods and is an excellent way to view nature in the beginning of spring. With winter gone, it’s time to get outside and admire the natural beauty of North Carolina. Not only will it relax you, but the fresh air, calls of wildlife, and songs of birds will benefit your mind just as much as the walking does your body. According to numerous studies, nature walks actually have a direct influence on a whole host of mental health benefits, including decreased depression, elevated mood, less stress, sleep quality, and more. We know you might want to stay in bed, but it’s all part of the rest and relaxation regiment here at The Inn at Governor’s Club.
The Riverwalk greenway is part of the primary route of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail, a trail system that runs from the western side of North Carolina (the Mountains) to the ocean. Find the main entrance in downtown Hillsborough by the Eno River Parking Deck, adjacent to the Gateway Center. Other access points of the greenway are Gold Park and River Park.
