Celebrate the Holiday Season at the NC Botanical Gardens
It may sound a little backwards, but December is one of the best times of the year to visit the North Carolina Botanical Gardens at UNC. Artistic exhibits and the Garden Shop make great opportunities to gift shop and admire local art, and annual festive celebrations bring cheer, music, and glowing lights to the scenic decorated landscape.
On Friday, December 7th and Saturday, December 8th, celebrate the holiday season at the North Carolina Botanical Gardens’ Winter in the Gardens Festival. With luminarias, native plant greenery, holiday music, food, and more, the Winter in the Gardens Festival is a great way to celebrate the end of the year at one of UNC’s most beautiful locations.
The Garden Shop is full of plants and seeds, jewelry, pottery, artisanal handicrafts, interesting books, shirts, and more that all make for great gifts. Encourage a family member to pick up a new hobby with a purchase of an educational gardening guide or expand upon an already blooming interest with a book on botany or natural history.
